Pumice is traditionally applied using pumice powder or aluminium oxide.
The fine-grained particles are sprayed onto the surface of the printed circuit board in order to achieve the finest surface structures. Pumice blasting and pumice/brushing, in which nylon brushes distribute the pumice evenly, are two possible processes. In both processes, the pumice is evenly distributed by nylon brushes.
Pumice is used for standard PCBs and for cleaning metal sheets. The normal brushing machine is used for thinner PCBs and smaller drill diameters.
The JET SCRUBBER from elevenDD includes stainless steel drive shafts with rubber bands. The machine is particularly reliable, guaranteeing, for example, that no vapours or liquids can escape.
When the last PCB to be treated in a batch leaves the infeed sensor, the system switches to ‘stand-by’ mode.
After the process pumps are switched off, a mixing pump starts. This pump, which is equipped with ejectors and placed in the tank, keeps the pumice suspension in motion, prevents it from sedimenting and keeps it ready for the subsequent work cycle.
