AXI - high-speed inline X-ray inspection

With the X-Series, Nordson presents a specialized concept for automatic high-speed X-ray inspection systems for inspecting printed circuit board assemblies for single/multi-panels or samples in trays. All solder joints of SMD and PTH components are detected by a specialized AXI algorithm library. Nordson’s AXI system solutions offer a modular inspection concept.

The system offers four technologies in one:

  • Transmission X-ray imaging (2D) with patented Slice Filter Technique (SFT)
  • Off-Axis Technology (2.5D)
  • 3D SART (Simultaneous Algebraic Reconstruction Technique)

Available configurations

The X Series is available in the following configurations:

  • X2: 2D + SFT
  • 5: 2D + SFT + Off-Axis (2.5D)
  • X3: 2D + SFT + Off-Axis (2.5D) + 3D SART
