Direct metallisation processes have been replacing conventional through-metallisation processes based on chemical copper for years. The advantage of direct metallisation lies in the possibility of simple horizontal process control and the small number of treatment steps, which significantly reduce both the process costs and the process time.
Chemical advantages lie in the environmental friendliness of these processes, as they do not require formaldehyde or heavy metals. In addition, almost all common base materials can be directly metallised without any problems.
