AXI - high-speed inline X-ray inspection

The X# Platform Series by Nordson Test & Inspection is an automated inline X-ray system covering a wide range of AXI applications. It’s a flexible platform with highly versatile capabilities tailored to the requirements of the application. The SMT setup focuses on component inspection and solder joint inspection on PCBs.

Four technologies in one system

Nordson’s AXI system solutions offer a modular inspection concept.

The system provides four technologies in one:

  • Transmission X-ray imaging (2D) with patented Slice-Filter Technique (SFT)
  • Off-Axis Technology (2.5D)
  • 3D SART (Simultaneous Algebraic Reconstruction Technique)

Available configurations

The X# Series is available in the following configurations:

  • X2#: 2D + SFT
  • 5#: 2D + SFT + Off-Axis (2.5D)
  • X3#: 2D + SFT + Off-Axis (2.5D) + 3D SART
